The Sauna That Disappears

KLAFS S1

For most homes, a true sauna means giving up a room. The KLAFS S1 asks for the depth of a bookshelf.

KLAFS, the German maker that has built saunas since 1928, brought the S1 to the United States this year. At rest it stands against the wall like a piece of furniture. At the touch of a button it extends to three times its size, a full sauna for two or three people.

It is made with insulated walls, 8mm glass and walnut interiors, in a matte black or walnut finish, and its SANARIUM climate control offers five distinct experiences with temperatures up to 210 degrees. It is the rare piece of wellness equipment that belongs in a living room.
